HANK WILLIAMS, JR.
Sons of famous fathers are frequently
troubled by self-doubt and appre-
hension. Can they live up to the
challenge presented by the paternal
image? Some avoid the issue by mov-
ing into activity totally removed
from the father’s calling. Not so Hank
Williams, Jr. He has chosen to follow
in his father's footsteps, feeling,
no doubt, that the fabled reputation of
Hank Williams, Sr. is not achallenge,
but an ideal to work toward, a stand-
ard of excellence to emulate. Unques-
tionably, this lad reveres his father’s
memory, and unquestionably he is
rapidly reaching the point in his car-
eer when Country fans will no longer
say, “Why that’s'Hank Williams’ boy,”
but instead will be saying, “That’s
Hank Williams — you remember his
father.”
The horoscope of Hank Jr. is a beau-
tiful chart for a public performer. It
is an “airy” horoscope, for several im-
portant planets were transiting air signs
at Hank’s birth. His own sign of Gem-
ini is an air sign, and when he was
born this planetary line-up was trans-
iting Gemini: Mercury (which rules in
Gemini), Uranus, and Venus. In Libra,
another air sign, we find that
wonderful planet Neptune transiting.
And if that is not enough in Aquarius,
the third air sign (there are only three),
the good luck planet Jupiter was mak-
ing himself at home. Air signs are
ideal for sound and communicating, so
you can see young Mr. Williams started
life with some very outstanding advan-
tages.
Mercury is undoubtedly the strongest
influence in Hank’s life. Mercury has
provided him with high intelligence,
excellent physical coordination, and
bodily grace coupled with modest
charm. This planet has also endowed
him with versatility and the ability
to adapt. As Mercury rules in Gemini,
the birth sign, this makes Hank a
"super” Gemini. The sign of “The
Twins” is a “verbal” sign, and Gemini
natives usually make their way through
life utilizing the voice in one way or
another. Peggy Lee, Dean Martin, Pat
Boone, Bob Dylan -- these are a samp-
ling of Gemini natives who adhere to
this rule, and Hank Williams, Jr. is no
exception. He is destined to make it
•with his voice, and he is destined
to make it big!
Next in importance in Hanks' life
patterns is Uranus, planet of “tele-
communication.” Wherever electricity
is involved in communicating --cutting
a record, using, a mike, broadcasting
over radio or T.V. — he lias powerful
Uranus backing him up. His ability
to put himself over is further enhanced
by a fine Neptune position in Libra.
Neptune, higher octave of Venus, is in
trine aspect to Venus - very favorable.
Neptune is called the “God of Vision”
planet. It gives one that sixth sense
which makes it possible to appraise
people and size up situations to advan-
tage, a hanfly skill to have in show bus-
iness.
Saturn was transiting Leo when Hank
was bom, while Jupiter was doing the
same in Aquarius. Thus these two great
planets were across the heavens from
each other — in opposition. We know
that Saturn and Jupiter in conjunction
are very bad, but how are they in opposi-
tion? I feel that this is excellent for
young Hank, for the Saturn influence,
gives him a serious bent of mind, while
Jupiter signifies that good fortune
will come to him without undue effort
on his part to achieve it.
With the exception of a few un-
important setbacks, the future of Hank-
Williams, Jr. looks rosy indeed. His
career should take a big leap forward
beginning the first week in July, when
ruler Mercury returns to Gemini. Venus
follows one week later'intoGemini. And
that isn’t all! There is a major con-
junction scheduled on July 23rd be-
tween Uranus and Jupiter, and you may
look for things to really move then -
perhaps some sort of national exposure.
Hank will always make good money -
Jupiter certifies to that - and his per-
sonal life will be a reflection of his
own idealism. And - as his famous
father gradually fades into the misty
realm of legend, it is this talented boy
who will be the Hank Williams of the
future, and "junior” will be a forgotten
term.
