For the 1st season of the show Bill Theiss created a additional uniform for Captain Kirk to wear, this version featured the gold braid, normally worn on the sleeves, on the shoulders (The 2nd season version moved the braid back to the sleeves)
This listing features a version of that braid that is in two pieces instead of being two pieces if braid sewn on the shoulders. Each piece is a Mirror of the other so they cam be placed on each shoulder and have a matching look.
This Trim was an "Off The Rack" Trim in the 1950's, in addition to being a commercially available item it was seen in "The 10 Commandments" and in 1966 Bill Theiss used it on the Original Star Trek as the Rank Braid. This listing is for a recreation of the Original Trim.

This is the most accurate braid ever recreated, except for being new (instead of 40 years old) it is identical to the original!
